Hrrm... I just bought this laptop at Sam's Club...

http://www.samsclub.com

It's a Hewlett-Packard XT345. The problem is, HP doesn't have a model xt345 on their website.

It has:
p4 2.0ghz non-mobile
256 mb ddr ram, 30 gb HD
DVD/CDRW, Floppy drive
15" LCD screen
system device reports "Mobility M6" as graphics, I guess that means Radeon. It has TV OUT. The manual says Radeon.
NIC, Modem, USB, ect..

Kicker is, it was a display model. Very good condition, little scratch on the side.

The real kicker is I got it for $1200 bux even. I threw on the $140 3 year extra warranty sams has for a $1400 total. Mm... now it's warranted for 4 years.

Anyways, can anyone help me?

Anything at all. Mostly I was wondering if the graphics card is actually a Radeon or not. All it reports is Mobility M6.
Also I was trying to figure out what speed DVD/CDRW it was.

Kickass deal, I'm happy, I'm just trying to figure out what it is.

I'm calling HP right now.

Man... look at the deal I got. You'll never get anything like that from Dell.

It's a 15" LCD too...

Hmmm.......I'd call up HP and see if they do have it. Maybe they discontinued it already?!

Thanks.

I was mostly trying to see if I qualify for the $100 rebate @ hpshopping.com

Trying to extend my deal further.

Someone suggested that it's a store-only special model. Makes sense?

They said to match it with the closest model possible and that's the one.

HP does make CostCo/Sam's Club specific models so that may be true. For instance when I was researching a multifunctional all-in-one printer, all other stores had the HP v40 where as CostCo/Sams sold the HP v40i or something like that, the extra charracter denotes it's a CostCo/Sam's Club model.

I would check out CostCo they have a decked out Compaq Presario 2801CL laptop (P4 1.4/384MB/30GB/15" XGA/Radeon 7500) for $1499 @ CostCo.com starting 8/12

Bah, you're just jealous because I have a laptop and you don't :p

Besides, this laptop is better than the Compaq one... 4 years of warranty for less than the compaq.

Also we don't have a Costco up here in WI :-(

Trust me I'm not I'd buy a Dell, IBM, Compaq or even Gateway before buying an HP (although they do make good laptops).

Oooo... harsh. A gateway?

Trust me, I went into the store set on never buying a HP. That is until I saw the price and saw that not all HP's come bundled with shitty graphics cards.

Ok maybe not a Gateway but the new ones do look sweet. It also depends on reliability, performance and of course price.

Very few laptops can top the Dell Inspiron or IBM ThinkPad series.

The HPs are funny how they have like 10 blue LEDs on them that light up. It's like the entire laptop glows. Hey, built-in lighting :) Added feature.

I was intent on buying the Fujitsu C2010 @ BB before I saw this in the clearance section. The guy would've given me the display model for $1250 flat (don't have to send in pesky rebates) and then 10% off for taking the display model. Of course it didn't come with a warranty (no box) so I'd have to pay $219 for the BBuy 3 year warranty.

He only held it until the store closed so it's free raiding tomorrow.

This is almost as good of a deal as the KDS P3 1G & CDRW/DVD that I saw in the clearance section 1 year ago. Price: $700.

This HP was the display model, but they gave me the box for it, so I have the warranty. I'm gonna try taking off the UPC so I can cash in on the $100 rebate. Tryin to extend my deal to $1100.

I love Fujitsu's laptop designs but I think of them as a Mitsubishi sort of laptop ... they're mainstream, good, reliable but not quite a refined Maxima, Accord or Camry just yet.

Personally, I'm impressed by another HP model. The Omnibook 6100. A bit older (P3 1.13ghz) but well designed.

The only thing I don't like is that it has a 2.0ghz non-mobile P4. So the battery only lasts 2 hrs at full charge.

But, I bought it at nearly half as much as an equiv dell system (including warranty), so I'm not complainin.
