Help! System won't POST after shutting down?

Good Morning Everyone!

My problem is that my rig has suddenly started acting up. My rig has been super stable since it's initial build (on its 2nd year; see specs below) and it runs just fine. The problem is that, after a normal shut down, she won't make it to POST afterwards. I found this out after going away this weekend. I turned her off Friday night, she wouldn't POST Monday. I have since replicated the event...restarts, resets, hard shut downs using the power switch....they all end up the same: can't make it to POST!

I have her running now (I'm typing this post on her) by unhooking her from power, removing the CMOS battery and clearing the jumper. This works every time. I power her up and she POSTs every time. Default settings come up, BIOS Version reports my current one is intact (v.2205). Heck, I even enter my mild OC settings and she POSTs fine after the CMOS reset.

What gives? Do you think it's a Windows problem, I mean can Windows cause a m/b to NOT POST? (I'm running Windows XP Media Center with all current updates/patches) Or is my M/B showing signs of an upcoming death? I'm at a loss as to what to do.

Thanks for any thoughts or suggestions!

Before you do that, do you have any usb card readers or printers turned on and connected? They cause me not to post until I turn them off. If that's not the case then try replacing the battery.
