this has been happening to me recently, and it's getting pretty annoying. usually happens when i'm burning a cd, and trying to do something else. the system just hangs, no bsod, no nothing. everything basically just stops, and stays at that point where it hangs. i don't know what's wrong. i'm running windows 98, and i don't overclock. my temps are pretty low, 36c idle,, 38-39c load. i'm not sure what it's related to though. anyone have any ideas?

i get this when i try to multitask too much. you might be running out of ram. tahts what first came to my mind. but then again with 256 you should be fine. you running anything big toher than that while your burning?

another possibility, thought very very veyr low with your 60.GB hd is that your out of space during the info transfer and your burning software cant deal with the conflict. but your probably not runnin out of space unlesss your some major mp3 junky

doubt that's the problem, i have 30 gigs free, and it's not always when i'm burning cd's either. sometimes the system just hangs when i'm doing something like copying files or zipping files.

a good way to narrow down the problem is to transfer the burning software and burner to another computer and try it there. that way you can find if it is software or computer hardware.

pretty sure it's not the burner or the burning software because it worked fine a couple days ago.
