I have a Soyo KT-600 Dragin v.2 mobo Athlon 2500 XP+, 1GB PC2700 (2 sticks) RAM.....

The machine starts booting up and then stops. The stupid soyo 'graphical' boot screen is on and I can't see where it stops.
It does not respond to the keyboad so I can't clear the image and see the regular post text.

I've tried unplugging all my IDE devices, my sound card, firewire card and so on.

I've tried it with only the CPU, 1 stick of RAM (tried both of 'em) and the video card with no luck...

I've cleared the CMOS (unplugged power and used CMOS clearing jumpers).... and no luck...

any ideas anyone? please... :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

I don't know what happened, but things are working now.... don't know if it will crash tommorow....

Like I said, I unplugged everything and had only one stick of RAM, video card and CPU plugged in. I left the macine on for sometime and I came back and it had got passed the initial post 'splash' screen and was saying that it coulnd not find a bootable OS (hdd was disconnected).

I restarted and was able to get into the setup screen. but it still took about 5~10 minutes to get past the splash screen. Since it was getting to the point where it was looking for boot devices I figured I'd try plugging the Harddrives and CD-ROMs back in. Then it started booting up like normal.... It just doesn't make sense..... I plugged my soundcard, firewire card and second stick of RAM and everything is as good as new....

I don't know where to go from here, probably won't shut my computer down tonight :)
It really pisses me off when crap like this happens....... it's such a waste of time and nothing was wrong..... is this a sign of bad things to come?

In the meantime I found a PCI/ISA (it cand do both) boot-up diagnostic card for about $10 on ebay.... (buy it now $0.99 + shipping for $8 :) )... the claim is that it has a two (hex) digit LED display that will show the status of the POST... these cards are called port 80 cards as well... anywayz if it works like its supposed to i should save time in situations like this trying to figure out what went wrong.... but for that cheap (the Soyo version of abt $30 and is a little fancier) what the heck.....

How do you tell if it is the PSU?
