HELP! System keeps resetting

bleeb

Lifer
My system keeps resetting.

AMD Athlon XP 1600
MSI KT3 Ulta 6380
300W P/S
Redeon
Mushkin DDR333 PC2700 (256 MB)

its not running stable at 1.4 GHz...

Please help? Any ideas?

resetting!!! 2 things...

1) heat

2) power supply ain't cutting it....

List temps...core,system, and room temps?? List case fans....

List all voltages as seen by mbm5.1.9.1

If it wa ram likely would get BSOD...

Last thing....Are you running winxp??? If so the resets may be caused by a setting that tells it to restart in the effort of a bsod.....If you are running winxp

Do this:

start - control panel - performance and maintenance - system - advanced - start up and recovery settings - uncheck automatically restart....

Guess what I had mine checked!! That is funny I guess that is how stable this p4 system is I have never had a restart...

The system is cooled like Antartica in the Winter.

The power supply is a 300 Watt. And I have a CDRW and 3 fans..

Processor info:

10.5 x 136.8 running at 1436.0 MHz

CPU Voltage: 1.73 v
Memory: 1.73 v
AGP: 1.73 v

CPU Temp is 45 degrees and steady...
CPU fan speed 4856 RPM

I don't know my room temp but its comfortable...

DUVIE ... I think your last suggestion worked.... NO REBOOTS.. so far. =) GRACIAS.

Generally it is the first 2 things in most of those situations minus winxp....That is why I wrote it and then it dawned on me the famous winxp restart that throws quite a bit of ppl for a loop...

Don't forget to check the error log and see if you are getting any. Also, if it does start rebooting again you could try bumping the Vcore up a little and see if that stabilizes it.

I have just bought a Shuttle AK35GT2. I couldn't play GTA3 without it restarting (XP 1700+ at stock, 256MB Nanya PC2100, MBM voltages at spec) I originally bumped the Vcore and VDimm, and it was fine, but I'll try turning off the restart option and let you know what I come up with.
