Hello, I currently have a Athlon 64 3500 Socket 939 system setup and bought a 7800GT for it. Included was a pretty nice SLI motherboard and I'd like to install it. The problem is that I have never done this and was hoping for some advice. The current machine is a retail purchased system that I've upgraded and don't want to screw anything up.

From reading the manual it looks like I can install the new MB drivers, shut down the machine, swap the MB, and boot up and should be fine but I wanted to check with you guys first. Can someone give me some advice or help as to doing this swap? I'd like the OC abilities and SLI potential in this new MB. Thanks in advance.

I think there was a thread in General Hardware about deleting certain files on your HD that identifies your motherboard with that HD. Then you can avoid formatting.

I might try to twist the heatsink gently if I were you before removing it.
