Help/suggestions on overclocking a P4 2.53ghz with EPox 4G4A+ Motherboard.

Hi, i'm new at overclocking and even though i read a few good articles and forum messages about overclocking. I haven't seen many posts about overclocking P4 2.53 cpu's with Epox boards.

I would like your suggestions and comments on how to best Overclock my 2.53ghz cpu to 3ghz or more.

By the way, I just tried to raise my FSB to 150 x 19.0 = 2.85ghz with everything else default and i tried to reboot it but windows gave me an error while loading, saying something abut c:\windows\system32\system needs to be repaired..?? does that sound familiar? When i reverted to a FSB of 133 it was back to normal and loaded.

Anyways here is my computer info.

Cooler Master ATC-201sx2
Intel P4 2.53ghz (pack date 6-7-02) SL685
512mb Corsair XMS PC3200 DDR cas2
Swiftech MCX4000 heatsink with a YS-TECH TMD fan and Arctic Silver 3
Antec True 480
Epox 4G4A+ motherboard
Gainward GEforce TI-4400 128mb

Can you tell me what FSB and VCORE, and DDR Settings and also CPU Temps to expect?

I benchmarked my computer with PCmarka nd 3dmark and these are my scores.

CPU=6103
MEM=5986
HDD=792
3Dmark = 11,999
My normal temps are about 103-107 degrees Farenheit for the cpu and about ~80 for the system.

All Help is welcome

Start by cranking up the FSB to something like 140 and see how it does. If its stable (runs prime95 for an hour without error) then increase the FSB by 5 and run Prime95 again. Keep increasing the FSB about 5MHz at a time until its not stable at prime95, then increase the vcore a notch and try again. Keep increasing FSB until its not stable then vcore until it is stable until you hit a vcore of about 1.65 @ idle (as reported by Windows, not BIOS). But realize that overclocking is just luck of the draw and you may or may not hit 3GHz.

temperature wise you should be expecting the mid 40s to low 50s...since you are using the best heatsink out there...you shouldn't hit anywhere high enough to worry about...60c is really pushing it...
all that are reading during 100% cpu loading...
sorry...i don't do Fs....i like Cs better...
