Help suggest a car for me.

I am graduating with a Business degree in May and I have several good job prospects. Anyway I am looking to replace my daily driver (2001 Nissan Sentra SE with AT) with something more fun later this year (late summer at the earliest). I already have a 94 Subaru Impreza with a turbo swap, engine managment etc etc so I'm not looking to do another crazy mod car just something more fun but fairly reliable with perhaps light modding eventually.

Requirements:
1. I am looking for something somewhat sporty and fun.
2. I want a hatchback, since I often have boxes in my car from my eBay sales. I'll consider cars with comparable storage room.
3. No SUVs, Trucks etc!
4. Roughly 25k budget

Would likes:
1. 2 Door would be nice
2. I have no problem getting a used car but try to keep suggestions to 2003+

What I've been considering:
1. 06 Mark V GTI (with that badass DSG tranny)
2. 04 Mark IV R32
3. Mini Cooper S
4. Ford Focus ST (I wish 🙂 )

Whats wrong with FWD? I mean I know there are obvious disadvantages to FWD but I have an AWD fun car after all. I just want a daily car that is kinda fun. And I do have the R32 on my list which is AWD. Anyway a Z is too small for what I want, I'd rather get a Pontiac Solstice over a Z honestly there are too many Z's around here. I also am somewhat considering a 1 series BMW, but I can't see spending into a BMW over a GTI/R32 (especially after that Top Gear comparison last year).

Just an additional comment on my suggestion, the Audi A3 is practically the same car as the new GTI. They share the same engine. The Audi is just a little nicer in my opinion, and I think it look classier.
