You see I was trying to install my new Radeon Drivers so I uninstalled the old drivers and when the comptuer restarted I accidentally removed the standard VGA drivers. I restarted again and it detected my video card and when I tried installing the new drivers it gave me crap about not being microsoft certified and didn't allow me to install them. So I go into windows (BTW I use WinME), and go to add new hardware in the control panel.
As soon as it starts searching, BAM! I get the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!:
"File Name: SMARTVSD (05) + 00000000 Error: 0028:C002830"
I get this all the time, but every other time I had a way around it. THIS time is different... I go into the System Device Manager & NO video driver is present, so I can't change it from there. Than I go to Display properties & try to change the apapter from there, but the change button is GREYED OUT! So I restart, HOPING TO GOD that windows detects my video card again... it's a no GO!
AHHHHHHHHH, I'm stuck in 16 Color VGA HELL, Someone HELP ME!!!!

Also if I try installing the radeon through setup It gives me the error:
"Setup was unable to complete installation.
Try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup"

And in Add New Hardware, shouldn't there be an option to select the device manually? Maybe not in WinME i guess, but is there any other way to do it?

Delete the current video drivers and then re-install the standard VGA drivers. Reboot your PC. After that you should install the Radeon drivers. Many advanced video board manufacturer's suggest doing this when upgrading their proprietary video drivers. The video boards are often not recognized correctly unless the standard VGA drivers are in place.

Boot into safe mode and see what display adaptors are in device manager.
Also see if any "uninstall..." options are still under add/remove programs.

While you're in safe mode, also try to change your display adaptor to standard VGA.

Then restart and try to install the drivers.

Or if you have a lot of faith in the ATI drivers, install them from safe mode and see if it restarts you with the correct driver being detected for your video card.
