HELP STOP THE AMBULANCE SIRENS

have just built my new system

Abit NF7-S rev 2.0
XP2100 AUIHB
Corsair XMS3500
CPU TEMP- 44.50
Leadtek TI4600 TDH

I was wondering why i keep getting the ambulance tone.

I was wondering what settings i should use in the bios to increase my performance. Right now i am at FSB 160 and seems that i can change the mulitplier to what ever i want.

I also want to know what settings my ram should be at. I just havent ever had so many options when overclocking. So where should i start at right now my XP2100 @ 2080 Ghz. I want to see how high i can go and i would like a 24/7 stability.

Also if there are any directions on how to overclock efficiently and what the motherboard tones mean when it quites on me. The ambulance siren and beeping what does that mean to me.

My old abit be6ii 2.0 does the beeping when I've set the cpu temps too low or when my voltages are out of whack. i can disable that in bios or mbm (depending on the source of the triggeR).

so it is a voltage or a temp issue but that isnt something that i have changed

could be. My board is a 2 year old version of what you have... so it may or may not be comparable. but the motherboard health monitor will make motherboard beeps if it thinks there's a problem. Now, as for programs, well, mbm uses pc speaker in my setup... even though I have a real sound card. For that reason, I suggest seeing if turning off mbm stops beeps and pouring through the hardware monitor settings of the bios.

I had a new Maxtor drive that did not spin up, and it made a sound like a cell phone ringing, could that be it?

with all of my recent motherboards, the BIOS would activate an alarm when i tried to overclock too high. one alarm warned of a ram setting that was too high, and the other alarm notified me that the system couldn't boot.
