HELP, Stop Flash Player 7

This is like a virus now. Before I could browse safely and use flash player 6 for most things I needed but now practically every page wants to install flash player 7, even AnandTech. I get 2-5+ prompts every page. I don't what to disable it as I actually use it and Anand charts use flash so no good but I need to stop this prompt.

On one computer I tried installing it and it could not do it for some reason. I don't want to install it as its only real use is to provide more annoying and most importantly, more intrusive and disabling ads to the user or should I say victim.

I actually contacted Macromedia regarding purchasing of getting instructions on how to restrict what can run such to disable anything that may interfere with browsing but obviously got no replies.

Can somebody help me stop this virus without disabling old flash capability?

I think the most common answer you'll get here is: use firefox.

Hi,
Why not just install flash player 7? It's really not that bad and it'll stop you from getting annoyed and possibly blowing an O-Ring. Then again, Firefox allows you to block ads, including Flash ones, so use that, plus Flash 7, and you'll be good to go.
