Has anyone ever seen this error message in WinXP before:

On a blue screen:

Stop: C0000221 Unknown Hard Error
\Systemroot\system32\ ntdll.dll

Or this one?

On a black screen:

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt
\windows\system32\config\system

This is on a new P4 2.0A with an MSI 845E Max motherboard with 512MB DDR 2100 a Maxtor 30GB 7200 HD with MSI 64MB GeForce 4 MX420 VC

I swapped memory with another stick I know the HD is working properly and did a repeat test and came back in proper working order.

Thanks in advance

Your first message i've never seen before, but, the second one I have. If you've already done restore points in XP then your OK... Just do a system repair. If not, reinstall XP. That's what I had to do because I hadn't setup restore points yet 🙂 *ding*
