With it set to auto it will not post, if I set it to 466 it will not post. I set it to 500 and memory runs at 200, ya weird I know, took hours to get this far. Disableing the cool and quiet and I havent ried but will, thanks. Thanks also for the mult 11. Power went out this morning and blew my hdd, arg, a quick grinding noise on startup, then windows is missing files. Then black screen of horror, drive no longer recognized.

I am using 2GB of Corsair 3200XL with all four DIMMs filled. There is an article over at ASUS that details how it will downclock the memory to PC2700 speeds when all four are used, and indeed it did. But then the article further details how one can manually set the memory back up to DDR400 speeds. I did so yesterday and have not had any problems yet.

deadly99: Don't you have a "400" setting in BIOS? You do seem like one unlucky guy!

Ok, so my system is as follows:
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe (derr...)
AMD 3200+
Kingston DDR400 CAS3 2x256MB
Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum
MSI GeForce 6600GT

Well, I had the POST issue along with others ( I made a post back then a few weeks ago before I RMA'd my board but I forgot where I posted it). Anyways, I got the board back, and they said theres nothing wrong with it (go figure) but the weird thing is, all my problems, such as the floppy issue (your gonna love this) one day 2 floppy drives came up, A: and B:, and B: was read as a 5 1/4 drive! Now, I only had a 3.5 drive in there at the time, A:, but if I unplugged the cable from A:, it still showed up A: and B:, BUT if i disabled the floppy drive from the BIOS, nothing was shown...very odd, but back to the main point, even the LAN port doesnt crap out anymore (no internet every now and then) ...I put the board back into the case and all the problems seemed to be fixed. I did absolutely nothing but take the board out, send it to them and they sent it back to me. They must have fixed something in order for these problems to go away. Maybe it was resetting the CMOS becuase when I got it it was all set to default. But, I still have that POST issue. From another post, I put my DDR voltage up to 2.75.
Since then I havent had any problems but the main problem that has been digging at me are 2 things:
1) The slow POST and the video signal loss
2) The hanging while loading windows ( i think due to the nvidia IDE drivers and the IBM 'deathstar' i have)

1) Everytime I successfully restart, the monitor goes to standby for a few seconds until it POSTs and the signal comes back. I still dont know why it does that and its digging at me...really gettin to me. Becuase im afraid that itll hang and theres another reason why I gotta try and fix this.

2) Everytime I load the nVidia IDE drivers, windows loading hangs (the scrolly blue bar) for a short time and then resumes..making startup even longer. Now your saying, then dont load those drivers, correct? Well, I was told that they would help speed up your system..making it work better with the chipset, or something along those lines. Is this hanging on purpose? Or is it not supposed to do that? Also, could it be becuase of the IBM 'deathstar' that I have that its hanging? Maybe I should try it with a newer drive to see if it still hangs.

I am repairing a system bases on the A8N-SLI Deluxe for someone, and it was having this same issue. It would not POST, and it would only generate an error code when the CPU was removed. It turns out that too many standoffs were installed in the case, and some of them were contacting pins on the bottom of the motherboard.
