Hello,
This is a first post, so I'm sorry if it's been done already. I have windows xp home edition. I've downloaded the service pack 2, and installed it. On Internet explorer (6.0.2900) the status bar lately has disappeared. If i go to view, and check status bar, it shows up, but as soon as I go to another website, it is gone again. And every time I open a new IE window, it's gone. Also, whenever I open IE, the window is opening on the same place in my screen no matter where I close the window the previous time. Any advice would be very helpful. All the sites I've been to say to "unlock toolbars" and then select status bar, and then check "lock toolbars" but it doesn't work. I've also gone to my computer and "applied to all folders" the same settings, and still nothing (this procedure also said to hold ctrl while closing the IE window and my computer window).
It's been sooooo annoying and not be able to see how the page is progressing while downloading and also not being able to see if whether or not the "link" the mouse pointer is hovering over is an actual link, or whether or not it's a link to a site I want to go to. Also, I like being able to see the security notifications and information that the status bar provides. If anyone has any ideas or tips, that would be great. Thanks for your time.
