i recently got an E6400 paired with a DS3 mobo. I overclocked it somewhat to 3 GHz and it was fairly stable(or at least i thought so). Yesterday I turned on my computer and it wouldnt load anything past the BIOS screen. So i had to reset, and press DEL really quickly to get into the BIOS setup. SO i loaded optimized defaults, which rest all the small things i changed. Fair enough. Then this morning the exact same thing happened???? What the heck is going on here? I have F7 BIOS. Did I screw up something? Thanks for the help.....

Is your cpu overheating? if everything is at default specs thats the only thing I can think of that would cause this problem. Unless the previous overclock might have damage something. What are your cpu temps? do you have enough power?

RAM settings?

My system will sit at halfway thru the posting screen if my RAM is being pushed beyond its limits, so that's be my first guess.

well my temps were at about 50 before (using TAT) and now at default settings its right at 40. So i dont think its that. my memory timings are pretty much stock (i think) and i havent played around with their voltages or anything. im gonna try a restart right now.
