This is the problem, my friend had a original coppy of windows xp pro sp2, he made 2 coppys of it, recently i wanted to reformat my drive but when i inserted the winxp cd on my cd drive it woulent boot...so i go to windows and start the installation from there ( as new installation)..so i download the latest installation files...my system boots and i come across that blue screen for the windows xp setup...i wait till the options come and i selected install fresh coppy...so i try to delete the partition..and on the next screen it tells me that i cant delete the partition becouse it has setup files..well. so i go back and just install windows xp and a message on the next window says "warning: your files will be deleted afted the installation" so i am like great ....i start the installation...all goes normal..i start my computer and it seems like everything its empty..like new, i open C: and everything is there, nothing got deleted...so i get my bootdisk (that i got from bootdisk.com...win 98 one) and insert it on my computer...i boot from A; and run the Fdisk program and delete the partition....now i reboot and try to install windows again... i inserted the cd and nothing happends...very wierd nor can i bot from the bootdisk again..any help?

Translation from newbie to asshole:
He wanted to reinstall.
He could not boot from the XP cd, so he copied the files to his hard drive.
He wanted to format, but couldn't since he had the setup files on the hard drive. The installation informed him that all of the files on the drive would be deleted after the install. They were not.
He used a bootdisk from bootdisk.com to repartition the drive. Now he cannot boot from the bootdisk or the Windows XP cd.

I don't know about from that boot disk, but you can make a 4(?) floppy set of boot disks for XP. Google knows how to do that.

The cd should boot just fine though, unless it was some kind of bad burn or something. It'll say "hit any key to boot from cd" and if you don't it'll try a normal boot...

Bigger picture: do you have a legal license to use WinXP? If your goal is simply to update your WinXP to Service Pack 2, you can download Service Pack 2 from Microsoft or order it on CD for free, or I've heard you can get a free SP2 CD-ROM at Beast Buy or Fry's stores too.

It was the cd eventually, i guess it was a bad coppy from the cd, yet i used my friends coppy(that he coppy from a original version) not the original coppy. But its really wierd that the CD had worked for me before, i checked for scratches and it didnt had any, now that i have the coppy at my house i want to make a coppy of the coppy, anyone know any good software for coppyng such thing?
