I have an Abit AT8 32X motherboard and I find it very peculiar that I can't get the temperature reading for anything except the hard drive. I can't even see the speed for the fans.

By the way, how do you do a screenshot of just one window?

Installed the latest version of speedfan? How about ABit motherboard utility program thing that I think comes on your motherboard CD?

I think Abit uses their uGuru chip for health monitoring and other things which SF may not support (at least I didn't see it listed). Use the AbitEQ and/or Guru program that is on your CD or DL it from the Abit site.

The Abit utility is installed and I can now see the CPU temperature. I see no fan speed though. That's a shame in a way. Oh well.

Use the Reset to Defaults option in the software and see if the fans aren't picked up - your fans have to have working speed sensors for the rpm monitoring to work - if you can see the fan speeds in the BIOS on the health page then you should see them in the software. Then set your alarm points, etc. And you may have to select and set up the temp alarms and fan speeds/alarms from within the uGuru section of the BIOS setup in order for the Guru software to display them. There may be a Help option within the software to assist you in fingering it out. I'm not sure as I haven't had a uGuru equipped mobo to get first-hand experience with it.

SpeedFan should autodetect the available hardware interfaces and be able to read the ports for data, but it needs a motherboard-specific profile in order to know how to label them. If the data isn't showing up at all then it's likely that the program doesn't support the hardware interface.
