just put together a simple(!!!) 2 pc cable connected (no hub) lan, after a few probs. we actually played our first m/player game however thats when we found that the sound had vanished or was intermitemt from both pcs.......(both have the same m/board)on a system check I found that I we had a pci latency problem, now while I understand the (very) basics of this does anyone know how I can cure it?if it helps the m/boards are abit be6-2 rev.1.1, with no bios upgrade, any pointers, help or hints will be greatfully recieved :))

whoa... your nic's are consuming THAT much bandwidth on your PCI bus that your sound card isn't working properly... this is the first time i've heard of this.

did you install the latest sound drivers and nic drivers?

are you using a crossover cable that is connecting the nics of both computers or are you using a lap-link cable connecting lpt ports?
