Help! Sony Multiscan 200GS Monitor

I know this monitor is a bit dated. But since I have to stare at it everyday, I would really appreciate it if someone could help me with this one. First, I thought there were something dirty on the screen, so I tried to clean it using a piece of wet cloth, hoping the dirty spot will be wiped off. NOT!!! It turned out that it was not a dirty spot, it was some scatches on a thin layer covered on the CRT , which is used to reduce the light reflection. Stupid me, now the scatches are gone, but a large white spot without this layer right in the middle of the CRT is even more annoying. I can not see things in this area with strong reflection of light. If I had known this layer can be easily wiped off, I wouldn't have done this stupid thing in the first place. Anyone knows how to fix this? Thanks!!!
