It doesn't happen too often, but when it happens it's just like the video card or the monitor is not detected.

My system:
AMD Athlon classic 700
AOpen AK72 mobo (KX133)
Elsa Erazor X² (GeForce 256)
SB Live 1024 player
Allied data modem
LAN
Antec PP303X psu

Try re-seating the CPU. Also check the motherboard manual. Some require holding down a key (insert) while booting. Soyo motherboards sometimes require this.

I sometimes receive a blank screen if I overclock too much and the CPU can't handle it. This is on a p3v4x.

On my abit motherboard, I had to change the primary device to PCI rather than AGP (even though I'm using only an AGP video card) and after that video signal comes up every time.

I have the same problem on an Asus P2B. Sometimes my monitor is blank when I turn on my computer. It happens sometimes, but not too often but is very annoying!
Any help would be appreciated.

PS. I am using the latest bios for my motherboard and grapich adapter.

Diesel21:
Try checking your bios and make sure either PCI or AGP (whichever one you have) is your video boot device.
If that doesnt work I have had to take the vid card out and reseat it before and actually bend the metal frame a tad to make sure it got all the way into the slot. It looks like it is all the way in but it isnt...those are the only two things I have tried as they have always worked for me. ;)

When you turn it back off and reboot after the screen is blank does it automatically go into the bios settings? If so I'd cut back a bit on the oc'ing.

The system is not overclocked, and I'm using the latest bios and nvidia reference 5.33 drivers.

> Fant: I'm going to try that!

Thanks!

my A7V does that with any vid card I put in... gonna try fant's idea..... it's not that it won't boot, but whenever it's been sitting for awhile and i hit the power button, once in a while i get no vid signal; hit reset and everything is fine..... It's just kind of annoying.

Happens to me sometimes. I hold down the switch for 4 seconds and let it reboot. That usually solves it but sometimes I have to yank the power supply cord and reboot. It's only frustrating when I'm doing troubleshooting or loading an OS where a bunch of reboots are needed. I leave mine on 24/7 for SETI anyway so it's not a real big problem.

I'm also suprised so many people have this problem. First I thought it was a Geforce-KX133 compability problem!

Anyway, I tried Fants solution, and it seems to work!
