i was cleaning out the motherboard with one of those compressed air sprays. After i was done, I put in my newly arrived Kingston PC 2700 512mb stick of ram and pressed the Power button. I heard a spark and then the burning smell; i turned the PC off quickly, and looked inside the case but i was unable to determine the origin on the burning smell. Aftr looking around for a few minutes, i turned the PC back on. The motherboard kept beeping and the "POST PORT" kept showing "C1"..then i check the manual for the post code "C1" and it means:

"Detect Memory
- Auto-detection of DRAM size, type and ECC
- Auto-detection L2 cache (socket 7 or below)"

the monitor shows 3 bars which read "No single...check cable"

what is gone bad here??

RAM ? VideoCard ? or(and) Motherboard ??

the fan on the Videocard still works

please help

You might wanna take this over to general hardware section and also include with your post the system components. I'm not familiar with those mobo error codes. Somebody over there may be (especially if you list those components) Good Luck:)
