HELP SOMEONE: Mac with USB to IDE adapter

I bought this adapter cable from ComputerGeeks.com, but the problem is, the drivers came on a mini CD. My Mac Mini can't take a mini CD in the slot loading drive.

Can someone with the same adapter and a Mac with a tray style drive copy the OS X driver and send it to me?

I know it's a long shot...but AT will come through if anyone can.

I am not 100% its the same adapter, but I have one thats very similar. Just sent the file over now.

I just put as much effort as I care to into finding a driver for: "USB 2.0 to IDE Cable". What an obscur part!

Are you saying the only PC available to you is a Mac Mini? WTF, I think you should have invested that money into a decent computer first!

You use a Mac..

I won't hijack my own thread, but have you ever tried an OSX Mac? Bought my first one this summer after being a hardcore Windows guy for almost 20 years.

My Thinkpad now collects dust, I use my Mac everyday.

I have plenty of WinXP boxes, but I can't get them to read the mac portion of the disc...

Do you have a cd burner on any of your PC's? Just copy the disk to a normal CD-R.

Edit: the driver CD that is.

You sir, have made me feel like a dumbass.

Good call!

BTW, sometimes the Mac disk might be unreadable on the PC because sometimes the disk is formatted for the Mac. If your cd burning software has it, try have it make an "Exact Copy" or a "Cloned Copy". Better than dragging and dropping the items directly on to the CD.

Remember back in the good ol days when it was the mac users that were the elitist douchebags ?

Times are a changin 😉

Did you get it worked out ? I was able to read the mac portion on my PC at work, it was just a .sit file that I zipped and sent over.

LMK if you still need it.
