So my internet just kind of went out right now and all the lights on my cable modem are fine except the status light. It is constantly blinking and it's not able to pick up a connection to the internet. Is it most likely the cable company's fault?

Cable company : Charter
anyone else in the 626 area that's having problems with their internet or is it just me?
 
This may or may not fix your problem, but it's easy to try, and it's what the cable company will tell you to do if you call them:

Unplug power from the cable modem.
Disconnect ALL cables from the modem.
Leave it off and disconnected for about five minutes.
Reconnect cable line to the modem.
Plug in power.
Wait until the status and connection lights go solid.
Reconnect the ethernet (or USB) cable to the modem.
Reboot your computer.
Try the Internet again.

If it still doesn't work after doing that, you may want to give Charter a call to see if there are any outages, or if there might be a problem with your line or your modem.
