Help! Some Questions about the ABIT KT7-Raid board

I just ordered a bit kt7-raid board. but i heard the raid controllers
on the board are buggy. so I plan to buy the fastrack100 controllers
from promise technology and use the raid freatures through the controller card.
Im wondering if the ata100 slots on the motherboard are buggy when in use
with any hard drive/ cdrom drives or just when you try to use the raid features.
if i stick my cdrw or my cdrom in those slots will it cause any bugginess
or errors? hope i got my message through

thanks...

I highly, strongly, any more adjectives? recommend against using any non hard drives on the Raid controllers on this board. There is nothing wrong with using the ATA66 controllers though. I have not had a problem with the Raid controllers but then again I'm not using it as a raid array. If you are going with an external card, why did you bother with the raid version of this motherbaord? There is a plain KT7 board that has everything except the extra two IDE channels and is about $15 cheaper.

its quite simple windboy, cdrom drives are not ata 66 or 100 compatible, i think the raid will work fine with out any cdroms or dvds on the channel, i tried using my ata66 controler with cds and hard drives, no speed increases with burns, only slowed down the hard drive, so cdroms on ata 66 are useless, will slow down hard drives on the channels, but every where i read the raid is good
