HELP (software forum had no help) - CD burner software placed a million .IDX files on my comp?

Hey guys... ever since I installed a CD burning program (forget which one, it might've been Nero 5.5), there is a MILLION .IDX files in My Documents folder.

Is it safe to remove these?

Or... how can I move them?

What are they?

Where do babies come from?

Thanks.

Anything in your My Documents folder is probably safe to delete. They may be an index file of some sort made to track the contents of CD's (probably an option of something you've checked in the software, Nero's never done that to me). Either way, safe way to do it is Zip them up, delete them, and keep the Zip. If nothing barfs after several days using all your software, then delete the Zip.

You sure it's the CD software that makes them? How'd you determine that?

I remember I mentioned this a long time ago (back when I had a different problem), and somebody said that there's a way to safely get rid of them, but they're tired to Nero.

I'm just kinda wishing somebody knew what they were, exactly.
