I recently bought a crossover cable from Best Buy and hooked my two systems. One is running XP pro and the other is running Windows 98SE. It seems as though my W98 machine can access folders very quickly ~ but the XP machine takes 20 or 30 seconds each time I double click a folder or remotely use a function on the W98 machine. When copying files over, I'm only getting 2Mb-3Mb transfer rates. The network cards are both brand new D-Link 10/100... What might be wrong?

Thanks for any help in advance!

you have to delete a line in the registry. Your network will be faster immediately, you don't have to reboot your pc

here it is:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Cur
rentVersion\Explorer\RemoteComputer\NameSpace\{D62
77990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}]
