Ok, another problem. I had yet to put in a NIC card and was just going to use my old 3com 3c905tx. so i threw that in the mobo and booted 98. everything was fine, the drivers were installed and it said i had to reboot. i rebooted and the thing posts and the hangs right before it is supposed to go into windows (still on the DOS screen), cursor just sits there blinking. so i reboot, i go into safe mode and the nic card was there, but there were no IRQ assignments or anything (definatly something wrong there). so i did 'remove' and pulled the card, rebooted and then got a BSOD, invalid call to some file or missing file ... reinstall 98

so i reformatted and reinstalled 98.

any ideas on why the nic card won't work?? i was thinking of getting a new nic anyway. what should i do??

thanks again.

Try installing the card in different slots, you should be able to find one where it is happy.

Edit:

I have no trouble with Win98 and IRQ sharing, just find the right slot.
