Hi,
I just purchased a ATI AIW 9800pro today. I went out and bought a DVI to VGA adapter (Belkin F2E4162a). When I hooked it up - I noticed that there were short vertical lines that were not random but arranged on all over the screen when I booted the computer. It happens even before Windows starts up (on the bios screen). Has anyone seen this problem before? Could it be a defective card?

Thanks

Possibly, obviously you bought a refurb, since the retail and OEM AIW cards come with the adapter in the box. It could be the adaptor you got, I would have purchased the ATI adaptor myself.

This is a common problem with these cards. I have just returned my second unit to ATI for exchange due to this problem. You have a defective card.
