Help setting up RAID

I'm trying to set up my HD's in RAID for the first time but can't figure out how to do it in the bios. Intructions are no help! I have the gigabyte x58 ud3r board. I have both HD's connected and I'm in the bios but can't figure out how to enable raid 0. They are two identical blank HD's with no OS installed. In the "Integrated Peripherals" section I changed SATA RAID/ACHI Mode to RAID but it doesn't give me an option for which type of raid. What am I doing wrong?

Some more info. When the boot occurs, after the bios screen, this pops up:

Serial ATA AHCI BIOS, Version iSRC 1.07 blah blah blah
Please wait this will take a few seconds

.........
Controller blah blah blah
AHCI BIOS not installed (probably b/c i enabled raid)
intel matrix storage manager option rom

The intel matrix storage manager option rom part is what I think pertains to RAID but it disappears so fast I had to video tape it to see what it actually said. How do I get into the RAID utility or whatever?
