Help setting up new wireless network

Im setting up a new wireless network and cant get my computer to get a internet connection I have a D-Link DI-524 router and a Dwl-g510 wireless G Desktop Adapter

I have a cat5 running from the modem to the router and then another from the router to computer #1 and then I have the wireless adapter in computer #2 that is 20 feet away and I set the router up and get a connection on computer #1 and on computer #2 it has internet but it is running really really slow is there any way I can check the channel of the wireless adapter to see if it is set on the same channel I have the router set on channel 6
