Help setting up A7V133

I've been running ok for a while, but I just ordered a rounded cable and I'm going to have to dive in and change that out. The thing that confuses me is I have my hard drive set to primary master, and my CD-Rom as Secondary Slave...Do I just plug my hard drive and CD into one chord and then it will be Primary Master and Primary Slave? I get a little hung up on startup when it looks for my secondary master...I am not too knowledgable about all of this crap.

Can someone tell me how to set it all up properly? I have one hard drive, and one cd-rom...that's all, no floppy. One chord, and I have the ASUS A7V133...Please tell me what I need to do in my BIOS settings too.

Set everything to auto in the bios... then make one the master and one the slave, and plug them both into the IDE cable, plug the IDE cable into the blue port (primary IDE ata 100) on your mobo... that should work.

That sounds like what I was trying to do when I originally built the system but it didn't work...I'll try again. Thank you.
