A friend of mine had me work on his computer (reformat, install XP pro).
Appearently, when I had it, I set the resoultion/refresh rate too high for his monitor to handle (don't know what he has for a monitor, but I'm guessing it's OLD)
Anyway, when he boots up, he gets the initial black "windows XP" screen with the progress bar, but then the monitor goes into power save mode. He says the hard drive sounds like a normal boot, so I'm assuming I just set the resolution/refresh rate too high.
So, how do I tell him to fix the problem?
Would booting into safe mode and changing the setting do it?
Any advice?
Thanks!@
