Help selecting Comcast internet/voip modem

Discovered my friend is renting an SBV5220 for $10/month from Comcast and would like to purchase a replacement. Can anyone recommend a model that is as fast and future proof as possible?

Thanks in advance for the help.

You're not going to be able to replace that because it has the extra voice component in it. That voice component is provisioned by Comcast and they're not going to give you the authentication parameters to configure it yourself.

is there a D3 version of the arris? also the packetmta (voip) modems have batteries so you can place calls to 911 when the power is out..

Thanks. I was afraid of that.

I recently bought a Motorola SurfBoard DOCSYS 3 modem from NewEgg. Great reviews.

If you don't need the analog piece of the service, PM me! The modem isn't compatible with my super shitty ISP.
