Hi

I have an MSI 865pe FISR mobo and a seagate 120g SATA drive but windows XP pro only detects it as 111g, does anybody know why? I have used the seagate drive tool to prep the drive before installing XP pro SP1 and it is detected as a 120g drive. This is driving me nuts because I'm losing a wopping 9g!

On the MSI board I am using the 1.2 bios a 1.3 is out but it doesn't state anything about this problem. But I recommend this board to p4 upgraders because its so stable and fast. I overclocked my 2.8c to 3.2 easily on stock cooler. Now if only I can fix this HD problem.

Thanks

That is normal. It has something to do with 1024 bytes = 1 kilobyte as opposted to 1000 bytes = kilobyte. I'm sure someone will come in here and give you a more techical explanation.
