OK. Here is the problem:

I have 2 10k 4.5 Cheetahs, that i want as C: and D: drives, for running my main stuff on since it is faster

And i have a 60gig Ide Harddrive for storage.

The thing is, i installed winXP on one of the 4.5's, and i formatted the 60gig, but it still has some system files on it, and wont delete them. And if i try to format, it goes thru till the very end and says, unable to complete.

So, when i bootup everything is ok, computer boots to winxp, but stuff runs REALLY slow, i have a top performace system too, p4 2.4 ti4400 512mb pc900 ram, etc.

If i take out the IDE drive, the comptuer will not boot at all, it gets errors out the wazoo.

What do i need to do? Should i set that 60gig IDE at slave instead of master, even though it is the only ide in my computer?

ANd what should i do with the scsi drives? What should they be at etc?

This is getting really frustrating, any help/criticism is appreciated. Thanks - Rob

Start with one SCSI drive to do a fresh install on. Leave the others unplugged.

Go into your bios and enable boot to SCSI (or "other") and check the boot order list. You may have 2 or 3 settings to enable in the bios for all this. It varies from system to system.

boot to cd or disk and do the install routine. Once done, connect the other drives, boot up, and correct the drive order in Disk management under Adminstrative tools.

What OS are you trying to load? If Win2k or XP did you F6 at boot and load the SCSI drivers? Double check your bios settings, the HD ID setting (set boot to 0), termination, and the adapter config (tell the adapter which is the boot drive). This is likely a simple fix. You just overlooked something.
