After much deliberation, I decided to purchase an SB Audigy OEM sound card, and Altec Lansing 641 speakers.

And have had Nothing but problems since!

Fixed most, but here's my unfixable problem....

I have Adult Contemporary Radio Music Station coming through my speakers!
the tower is about a quarter mile from my house.
But it doesn't interfere with my roommates old digital Boston Acoustic computer speakers.
Radio Interference...Blech.

I cannot switch the wires for better ones, because they come prewired attached to the speaker, and cutting voids warrenty.
Is this from my Sub? the speakers are Sheilded, Sub is not.

What do I do, send these awesome speakers back and get non-digital one?:disgust:
Or can someone offer a solution!

Radio Shack said RF Chokes would fix the problem...they didn't help at all when I followed the directions and used them on my speaker wires. - is it coming from elsewhere?
Altec Lansing Tech said Ferrite Rings - Where can I get some? will they work?

That sucks.

I have an OEM Audigy and Altec 641's, and they sound great together. RF choke and ferrite rings try to do the same thing. Radio Shack should have ferrite rings, too.

Ferrite rings are like a "doughnut" about 1.5 inches in diameter. The devices are unplugged and the wires wrapped through the Ferrite hole about 10 or more times. The core is put near the plug end or tried at the other end or both ends. Which ever works !! Ferrite cores are available at most Electronics parts suppliers.

Also try tieing up the excess speaker wire into a tight bundle instead of having it stretched out all over the place or just laying in a pile. Same thing with the power cord.

Good luck!
