HELP: saving pics as gifs or jpgs in internet explorer?

I've been trying to save pics from the web in internet explorer. I would right click on the pic but the only option i would get are save pic as a bmp file. Is there a way I can just save the pic in it's original file format (gif or jpg)? Netscape automatically allows me to do this, but i rarely use netscape.

I've encountered this on sites when the url included a username/password; i.e. http://toomuchr0n@www.xxx.com. Remove the username/password, and all is okay !

Clear your cache, re-start IE, & try again.

its a wierd bug, just clear your temporary internet files. it will work then.
