PROTECT THE COWS!!.......AND THE PIGS!!.....AND THE SHEEP!!....AND THE chicken?
We in Russia also eat your horses.

We also eat cows, but those our. I do not agree with the author of commentary about the cows and the pigs and the sheep. Pigs are very good in order to eat up in winter. This makes stomach complete and warm. Cows are good also. But sheep are best in order to make warm object of clothing during the cold winter and some people as contact with the sheep also. This is not tradition in the cities (I of Moscow, but living to Kiev, the Ukraine now), but in the country, men make to warm with winter with the rear passage of sheep. They indicate that this is very tasteful, but I think that this is abominable.

Relations to all.

I can't see how the entire horse-slaughter economy could make it off of theft. With all sincere sympathy for those who lost pets, don't attack the slaughterhouse for the behavious of the wretched thief or scammer.

I've eaten horse. I've raised lambs and thought of them fondly as I take the souvlaki out of the boiler. I just don't get the modern squamishness. That meat didn't just magically appear in the supermarket, folks. An animal was born, raised, fed, tended, and then led off to a slaughterhouse where a killing hammer had been waiting for it since before it was born.

Smoked horse is damn good. Used to buy it all the time when I lived in Sweden. Makes for some good sandwiches. A little expensive, but well worth it.

Despite this agreement, within seven days of receiving the horses, the Burgesses sold them to a known ?killer buyer? for $1,000. (Killer buyers act as middlemen for the slaughterhouses, indiscriminately buying horses without concern for the horses? origin or condition.)

You gotta be kidding. $500 a piece for meat horses? To a middleman? Healthy steers fetch under $1000. Time to head out on the range and catch a mustang or two.

Show horses, racehorses, foals born as a ?byproduct? of the Premarin© industry (a female hormone replacement drug), wild horses, carriage horses, and family horses all fall prey to this detestable international industry. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of horses are stolen every year for the horsemeat trade.

Currently, two foreign-owned slaughterhouses in the United States are killing horses for human consumption. They are Beltex Corporation in Ft. Worth, Texas and Dallas Crown in Kaufman, Texas. According to the US Department of Agriculture, 49,325 horses were slaughtered in 2003.

Horse advocates across the country are holding house parties on September 18 to help achieve a victory for horses in the U.S. Senate.

If God didn't want us to eat them, he would not have made them out of meat.

Hmmm.. I wonder if that will result in a decreased value for many horses?
I know that the value of goats has been increasing rapidly, in part due to a much higher demand for goat meat by the Muslim population. For what it's worth, I've been informed that goat is quite tasty... I'll be trying it soon (if I can find a vendor) My own goats are pets; not food.
