I am trying to install the Sapphire Theatrix 550. Have tried from the CD and latest driver from ATI. Part way through the install, wityh an ATI image filling the screen, the system freezes. When shut down and reboot, the card is not installed and furthermore, the NEC DVD driver is corrupted, and I think the sound as well. Once, it dumped to a blue screen and it gave various nasty messages, but the DVD was back online with the next reboot. I can't get that far any more. Same thing happens in safe mode. Unistalling and reinstalling the DVD doesn't work.
I has just completed a fresh install of MCE with all updates, updated the X800 driver and mobo BIOS, etc., before trying to install the card.
Any hints?
