NO THREAD CRAPPIN, THIS A VERY SERIOUS MATTER!

Dear Friends,

I have just read and signed the online petition:

"Retiring Dale Earnhardt's Number Three"

hosted on the web by PetitionOnline.com, the free online petition
service, at:

http://www.PetitionOnline.com/DaleE3/

I personally agree with what this petition says, and I think you might
agree, too. If you can spare a moment, please take a look, and
consider
signing yourself. When last checked there were 4600+ signatures. Help
out for a good cause guys and gals.

He was just another guy who hit the wall ...

He knew this was possible ....

Instead of this Dale crap .... do something for all the people without fame & millions in the bank from knowingly taking the risk ... that are killed in auto crashes every day !!!

Signed it, I think it is the least they can do, the very least..:(:(

ArkAoss

NASCAR doesn't retire numbers. Unlike a traditional sports team they only have 100 numbers for every team in a given series, no numbers have ever been retired. If Dale hadn't been such an enormous influence on NASCAR and its' popularity there wouldn't be any chance of it, but he was and I hope there is.

look at his history & ask yourself ? what would he have done ?

He never asked for crap, made his own way & threw a few bones to the little guy ....

contribute to something in his name that will do good .... not an empty, 'this makes ME feel good' gesture.

I did say something good. If you don't agree with it tough it is still good. Why don't you do something that is useful to society instead of trying to retire a number.

formulav8,

I have a lot of respect for Dale even though I did not like his style of racing but there are better things to worry about.

Good, then worry about them. Don't push that on us, let people do what they wanna do instead of saying "You should do this or that".

yakko: bleh! This isnt Magic Johnson we are talking about, NASCAR is really the last place where sports celebrities are actually good role models...when is the last time you saw a NASCAR driver getting arrested for drug possession...these people are good honest hard working people with real families. That is what makes the loss hard. NASCAR is also the only sport left where the competitors are there because they love what they do...not for the money. You will never see a strike in NASCAR for more money. They dont do it for the money. The fact that you dont care about anyone that is outside your small little bubble doesnt mean you need to criticize others for caring.

Oh and I dont really want his number to be retired, I want to see Dale Jr. step in and drive his car. That would be special.

warcleric,

Where the fsck do you get the idea that I don't care about anyone? Just because I think retiring a number is stupid and a waste of time does not mean that I don't give a sh!t.
