help restoring xp

hi guys pls help.. i need to boot into my game partition (XP) which i can't access after installing vista over my work partition (previously XP) .. both partition are on the first disk..
1st disk 1st partition C: (Vista)
1st disk 2nd partition L: (Xp)


i totally forgot that XP needed the NTDLR to boot..and it was on my work partition is there any way to make my XP partition bootable again without reinstalling XP ??

any help will be appreciated.thanks in advance

You might try to fix XP first by running the CDs repair function and from the command prompt type it "fixmbr" and "fixboot" and let it do it thing. Then using the Windows Vista DVD do a startup repair. BCDedit will help too.

@billb2 ..already tried it... i could write to the MBR but it still doesn't boot..coz' NTDLR isn't present...
@techmanc : the CD worked !! (4 reinstall xp) no offense man, just a joke to de-cramp my head after finally decided to reinstall XP anyway...

Ah good luck with that I was under the impression you needed to get a dualboot system fixed using XP/Vista.

thanks man i,, install XP on the unused space ....copy the NTDLR to C: (the XP partition is O: )....EasyBCD ..voila !!! back in business
