there are no resolution options in the settings. is there a shortcut suffix that would let me run this fullscreen game in a window with the desired resolution?

TIA

I didn't know so searched on google, and the only link I found for running Risk 2 on windowed mode here lead to nothing useful. Did you try and press Alt+Enter while gaming and see if the game switches to a windowed mode?

The other options could be adding these after the game's target under game's shortcut > properties and seeing if they work:

-window
-w
-fullscreen 0

I know maybe these won't work but thought I would try and help. :)

thanks. having tried all that and then some, i'm declaring this unfixable. no combination of suffixes, compatibility modes, or anything seems to work.

I don't know if you can run it windowed. Maybe try something like uh... dxwind or whatever it is called.

Yes, DXwind it is and I've also heard of another one called D3DWindower. Never tried them though.

i don't think d3dwindower is going to work. i'll move on to attempting dxwind and 3D Analyze

worth noting the details:
vista ult 64 sp2
nvidia 185.81
9600gt sli
panny 1920x1080

no luck with d3dwindower, dxwind or 3d analyze. i can run the .exe from the apps, but the apps have no effect on the display.

side note: UAC is for the birds

I can make Risk 2 run in a window using dxwnd. You just have to set it to Directx~DirectX6 and it will run.

However... I'm not able to see my cursor when I do that, which makes it rather difficult to play....

Does anybody have a solution for this problem?
