Hi,

here's my system config:

Abit NF7-S nforce2 mobo
athlon xp 2100+
GEIL PC3200 (DDR400) : 2 x 256 MB (=512MB)
Radeon 9500 PRO
WD 80GB SE
Artec 16x DVD, Liteon 52x CDRW
420W PSU (Turbolink)

I bot the sys frm www.cyberpowerinc.com

i cant install ANY OS on it,, tried XP pro, 2000 pro, 98SE !!! always get the Blue Screen of Death !
various errors reported: Page fault, IRQ not less than equal, etc...

I've changed the CPU,RAM,MOBO already as i had the SAME problem with my old mobo : Leadtek Nforce2,Kingmax ddr400 RAM...

I've tested the 9500 pro and the HDD in other computers and they work fine.. Basically, i've singled out every single component and it works fine individuallly,, expect for in my system !!! always get BSOD !!! cant install any OS at all...

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me out sum1... desperate !

any ideas ?
thanks...🙁

I know this may sound stupid, but I had the same problem, have you tired changing the ide cables? In the system that I was building with win2k pro, I changed every component in it cpu, ram, hdd, cdrom, burner, dvd, video, but keeped the same ide cables, and it was the cables all along.

The only other possiblities could be the cdrw or dvd drive, if you havent tired those in another system. The hard drive could still be it. Download the WD DIAG located at that page and check the drive. I have also see where it would past the testes but still couldnt install an os, aslo test installing an os on that drive in another machine to see if it will error around the same time. The only other possibility could be the power supply.

Hope this helps

Dahak

thanks dahak...
i will try out new IDE cables,, using rounded ones now... dont think they are very reliable.
i dont really think tha BOTH that dvd and cdrw could be spoilt, it could be one or the other.. i've tried using both.
abt the hdd, im looking at the link u posted rite now... btw, the hdd is another system rite now, jes did a fresh install of XP without any problems,, so its not the HDD.. Im thinking it could be the PSU... 🙁
thanks again !

Try reinstalling an OS with only the bare minimum (mobo, cpu, mem, graphics card, hd, 1 cd-rom). Make sure it has nothing extra and turn off onboard sound/ onboard video if it has it. If that doesnt work maybe try doing so using the onboard video if it has it. Try just one stick of RAM and also try moving your HD to a different channel. It sounds like some sort of IRQ confilict like you said in the error message

hey brian,
i've already tried doin all that.. disabled all extra's frm bios... booted sys with cpu, mem(only one stick),hdd,dvd... still wudnt go past win xp install--- wud crash after hdd format, or durin copyin of setup files.. 🙁
any comments on PSU ?

A bad power supply could cause all sorts of strange problems. That power supply seems like it should be enough to handle what you have, but you never know. Do you have another PSU that you can try from a different system?
Sorry I cant be of more help.

Brian

tried different IDE cables too... tried different 420W PSU ALSO ! still no luck ! 🙁
get errors like : IRQL_NOT LESS OR EQUAL, page file error,etc...

anyyyyy ideas ???

thanks

good news : I finalyl got it to work !

how ? -> had to underclock the ram to DDR266.... DDR333 works too but 3dmark2001 crashed.. so im at DDR 266 now, with GEIL DDR400 RAM on my mobo... 🙁
any suggestions now ?
thanks again guys...

If the RAM is new you may want to consider returning it. If you can try to test it on another mobo at high speed.
