I hope this is on-topic for the General Hardware forum.
my apologies for the length.

I am shopping around for parts to upgrade my system into the next
generation. My plan is to get a case, mboard and CPU - and move the
rest of the parts from my current system onto the newer board.
I am looking for the best deal for these parts:

Case: In win Q500N
Motherboard: ABIT KT7-RAID
CPU: AMD Athlon (Thunderbird) 900Mhz

HSF: ??? Looking for recommendations (Best to fit KT7-RAID)
(Yes, I am currently reading the Anandtech Socket-A & Socket-370
Cooler Roundup - November 2000)

This will be to upgrade a K6-III-450 on a FIC VA-503+ to better accomodate
my new ATI AIW Radeon card. The use will be general computing,
Video capture/editing, software/hardware evaluation, and some gaming.

I do not need to get all the parts from the same vendor, but I would prefer
to keep shipping costs to a minimum as well. I am setting an upper ceiling
of $500 for this, which I think I can easily meet.

Also, the shopping method I am using includes checking the vendors rep against
www.resellerratings.com both to cover my assets, and hopefully to reward companies
that provide good customer support. I would also like to know any warnings
/recommendations from the Anandtech bunch.

So far, the results I am coming up with as of 12-05-2000 are listed:

I am considering the microbarn offer as first choice, I think the CPU and shipping
prices are a bit high, but the rating is good and all the parts I want are
available. Any thoughts?
