First of all, if this belongs in another forum, my apologies. Mods, please lock/move this thread as you see fit.

I recently acquired a used PS2, and about a month ago, I ran into some disc read issues with it. The PS2 makes obnoxiously loud noises when the lens moves up and down, and I'm hypothesizing that the problem lies either with the tracking belt (the metal spindle that moves the lens up and down), or the piece of plastic that connects the lens to the belt itself. I was thinking about purchasing the plastic piece online, to see if that would fix my problem.

It also sounds like my console may be having issues with the spinning of the disc itself, but that may simply be a factor of the lens issues.

I can make a video of what's going on, if that would help the troubleshooting of my problem.

Things I've tried:

- I've thoroughly cleaned out, as best as I could, the inside of the PS2, with compressed air.
- I've cleaned the lens itself with a Q-tip and 70% isopropanol.
- I've cleaned the belt and re-oiled it.

Any tips/suggestions, especially from those familiar with the insides of a PS2, would be greatly appreciated!
