Help! Removing thermal grease from CPU...

I have a pre-built computer with a CPU and crappy fan heatsink... And I need to add in a new heatsink as well as fresh thermal grease.

What is the most efficient way (without damaging the CPU) for removing the thermal grease from the CPU?

I use 91% Isopropyl alcohol on mine.
Removing ASII or III isn't as easy as the cheap stuff.
