Did a search in AT forums, didn't find an answer.

Need suggestion on how to remove old (unused) drivers (e.g.: monitors) from WinXP Pro SP1.

It's like this; you used to use say.. Monitor-A and now you use Monitor-B. Or you use to have 2 harddrivers, now only one.
I want to remove these old drivers/files.

With Win9x/2000, I used to be able to remove them by booting in safe mode and then removing them through System Properties. (of course this is done after removing every entry from Regedit & uninstall from control panel).

Thanks in advance!

If you are just looking to remove the driver for an
old monitor that is no longer connected, just go to
the DEVICE MANAGER \ Monitors and delete the monitor.

I was able to do this with Win9x or Win2000 (safe mode).
Normal mode on them would show no non-existing device.
But not with WinXP. Safe or normal mode, even with Show Hidden checked, it will not show any of these drivers.

I found and deleted some OEMSETUPx.inf... in \windows\inf, but Refresh Force still shows the old monitors.

Did I miss something?

Thanks.
