I have the Visiontek Xtasy 6564 Gf2Ti200 (the thanksgiving BB one). I want to replace the heatsink and fan with a Blue Orb. I removed the two pins holding the fan to the card but it seems like the heatsink and fan are physically glued to the chip. How can I remove the heatsink and fan?

When i was trying to remove mine, I took a screw driver and kinda look at it and was poking around to see whether or not it will hit another chip while I was trying and it just snap off with a little bit of force... which was weird, they only glue a little bit of the chip not the whole thing.

Also suggestion was freeze the card for 20 min and slowly use a screw driver on it..

or somthing flat.. some one here should know better...

I have the same card. Try using a twisting motion to get it off. I pulled and pulled and it wouldn't budge. I twisted it a few times and it came right off. My brother had his off in less than 10 seconds after I suggested he try that.

BEFORE YOU TRY TO MANHANDLE IT, go out and buy some nail polish remover.

Dab the remover onto where the heatsink and fan is attached to the chip and it
should eat through the glue. Don't worry, it won't eat the chip itself.

I subscribe to the freezing then twisting off method!
