I'm at a complete loss as to how to solve this:

the problem (i think) is the "asksbar" toolbar that i was installed on my laptop. i ran the uninstaller but i guess it didn't fully remove it.
i get a RUNDLL error prior to windows desktop saying:
C:\Progra~1\UNINST~1.DLL
The speficified module could not be found.

i know where the registry key for this is in the registry...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE => SOFTWARE =>MICROSOFT => WINDOWS => Current Version => RUNONCE => AskSBar Uninstaller

Here is the snipet from the HijackThis log: (i can paste the whole thing if needed)
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [AskSBar Uninstall] rundll32 C:\PROGRA~1\UNINST~1.DLL,O -3

i tried deleting this individual value in the regedit, i also tried deleting the whole runonce folder, but it comes back..

any help please!

try scanning in safe mode with malwarebytes and/or superantispyware, both updated before you scan, and see what they come up with.
You could also try Revo I have had it work when nothing else will.

It's adware - nothing dangerous. I know that, as recently as August, if it was on your system, Malwarebytes would nuke it.
