My laptop's hard drive is going bad (won't boot, etc). I used an adaptor to hook it up as a slave to my main rig, and I can see the drive in explorer. However, I can't just drag the files off, even though I can see them (and browse the whole drive). The copy does about 2 files and fails.
What are some good (and very preferably FREE) tools I can use to try to recover my data before I shell out for data recovery?
